A Muskoka Community Church service is not necessarily your typical church experience. Our desire above all is that our services will be relaxed, "come-as-you-are" gatherings designed to lift your spirits, engage your mind and enhance your life in practical ways. Music is modern—not unlike what you hear on the radio (click here for a Youtube playlist of some of the songs we use). Sermons are down-to-earth, relevant, and practical. They are designed to help you explore and discover the Bible and teachings of Jesus without religious jargon or pressure to conform. Our people are friendly and accepting, and coffee flows freely.

During the service, separate programming is provided for children from nursery age up to Grade 5. Our goal for our MCC Kids program is to provide a safe environment where children can have fun, are nurtured by caring volunteers, and are taught the stories of the Bible and the message of God's love in a way that makes sense to them. Of course, you can keep your children in the service if you prefer. The classes regularly join us for a few upbeat songs at the beginning of the service (often equipped with their own rhythm instruments!).

Services start at 10:30 a.m., but you should plan on arriving a few minutes early to grab a coffee and snack. Most of the time we will finish around 11:50 a.m., but special services may go a few minutes longer (or shorter)! We usually take communion (taking bread and a small cup of grape juice) on the first Sunday of the month as a way of remembering and encountering Jesus and his sacrifice. All are welcome (but not required) to participate, as long as they can recognize Christ's sacrifice on their behalf.

Sometimes our teaching time includes large-group discussions that help to engage the congregation in brainstorming or application exercises. You'll never be put on the spot or singled out as a newcomer, but will be allowed to engage at your own pace as you feel comfortable.
