Church on the Trail is finished after another great summer. Around 320 campers joined us over the course of the summer, and weather permitted us to meet 9 out of 10 Sundays!

What is it?

Every Sunday through Labour Day we will meet in the outdoor amphitheatre, surrounded by the beauty of Creation. Like a typical Sunday at Muskoka Community Church, we'll begin with a warm welcome, fresh coffee and some modern worship music. We'll have some practical, down-to-earth teaching from the Bible at the amphitheatre, a simple program for the kids and an optional guided hike with stops for devotional reflections along the way.

Why?
We believe that people connect with God's character, beauty and truth through His Creation. The Bible teaches that the world we live in was made for our enjoyment and to display the glory of God. The fact that we live in a particularly beautiful area means we have the privilege of helping people connect what they feel when they visit Muskoka with the Artist who dreamed it all up.

Who are we?At the Amphitheatre
We're a relaxed, friendly, modern church filled with (relatively) normal people at all points on their spiritual journey. We welcome campers, cottagers and members of the community to join us for this experience. Even if you're not a regular church-goer, we think you'll find Church on the Trail comfortable, uplifting and intriguing—especially if you love the outdoors. Our perspective is Christian, but we welcome people from all backgrounds and persuasions to join us.

This is a family-friendly event, so bring your kids. They will join us for the music, and may accompany parents on the trail. However, parents who choose to stay in the amphitheatre during the message are welcome to send their elementary age children to a short, fun kids program nearby.

Where is it?
Arrowhead Provincial Park is one exit north of the Huntsville Walmart, just off Highway 11. The first time you attend, you'll need to stop at the gate and pick up a free "Church on the Trail" permit to display on your dash while we're meeting. Then follow the signs to the amphitheatre (left after the gate). When you arrive at the amphitheatre grab a program (it contains song lyrics and other important information), a cup of coffee and a spot towards the front! We will also have bug spray available—just in case!

If you choose stay after the service to take advantage of the beautiful hiking trails, canoeing, kayaking and picnic areas that Arrowhead offers, you'll need to pick up a day-use or season permit from the Park Office.

What if it rains? On the Trail
If it looks like rain on the radar (we've learned not to trust the forecasts) we'll relocate to the Door Youth Centre, two blocks south of Main Street on Brunel Rd. in Huntsville. We'll have a relaxed, family-friendly, and most importantly, dry service there. If we decide to relocate we will post it on our Facebook page and home page by 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. If you're in doubt and you don't have internet access, you may call or text Jeremy McClung (pastor) at (705) 783-1966, or check with the Arrowhead gate staff.
